When it comes to food everybody loves, it’s hard to find anything more desired on your plate than a great slice of pizza. It seems to be universal that everyone loves pizza, and if anyone says they don’t, I’m not sure they can be trusted anymore. So when you find a great slice of pizza, it’s like finding your new favorite TV show. You can’t wait to binge it the next time you get the chance. That’s the feeling you get when you first try Andy’s Pizza. I understand Northern Virginia isn’t New York. There aren’t pizza places on every other block. But there are still a fair amount of pizza places, and when it comes to a New York slice, it really doesn’t get better than Andy’s. Arguably the best slice of New York pizza in Northern Virginia. That’s not just my opinion; it’s shared by quite a few sources. Being listed on numerous best pizza lists including The Washington Post, Washingtonian, Northern Virginia Magazine, just to name a few. Most importantly, it was said, “This pizza is the best” by the most important opinion of them all, Andy’s mom. I’ve never met Andy’s mom, but I can see where she’s coming from. She isn’t the only one giving her son Andy Brown high praise. In 2021, he won the best New York pizza slice in the northeast at the International Pizza Challenge. I’m sure that didn’t sit well with New Yorkers.
In less than 6 years, they have grown to 8 total locations with 2 in Northern Virginia, one in Tysons and another in Old Town. It does look like we may be getting a third in Arlington with possibly one opening in Ballston. That hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I’m sure everyone in Arlington is hoping it happens soon.
You can sit down at a luxurious Italian restaurant, order delivery, grab a slice as you walk down the street, or even grab some at 7-11. Pizza is available in so many places, with an infinite combination of toppings and styles. But really good pizza, high-quality pizza, it’s not as common as we’d like. That’s why you need to head to Andy’s the next time you’re craving pizza. I don’t think it gets much better in Northern Virginia when you want a New York slice. Hopefully, you agree. I know Andy’s mom does.
