With two locations in Northern Virginia and one in Georgetown you aren't too far from one of the three Bakeshop locations if you're in the DMV. If you are far from one, it's probably worth the drive. All three Bakeshops deliver the goods. Both literally and figuratively. With a large selection of desserts and baked goods you are sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth. They have frozen options like homemade ice cream sandwiches, refrigerated items like cake and pie slices and many many baked goods. Cookies, cupcakes, sweet bread slices, I can personally say everything I've tried from all three locations has been fantastic. In Falls Church, located next to Preservation Biscuit Company (Another NOVA top pick), there is limited seating inside and a couple of tables in the parking lot. Parking isn't the easiest, sharing with a few other businesses but you can usually find a spot. This location, like the other two, have extremely friendly staff willing to answer questions always with a smile. Another location is in Arlington. Specifically approximately a 5 minute walk from the Clarendon Metro Stop. Next to the Green Pig Bistro it can make for a very nice lunch or dinner combination. Grabbing a meal and heading next door to the Bakeshop for dessert. This location does all of the delivery for the businesses. They deliver within a 10 mile radius of this location. The third spot is on Grace St. in Georgetown. A block south of M street just off Wisconsin Ave. Grace St isn't a big street but it packs in some good options to grab something good. This Bakeshop is known for being their vegan location, as all items are vegan friendly. Up a short flight of stairs, they're in a shared space with a few other businesses. A fair amount of seating in the shared space. If you want to sit outside there is a seating with some tables across the street along the canal. Be aware the Georgetown location is closed Mondays and closes at 5:00 the rest of the week.
Everyone loves a good bakery/dessert place. Some are better than others. This is one of the good ones. All three locations. My only bad thing about the Bakeshop, if you go once, you're going to want to go back a lot. Can't be good for your waistline. It has won awards like Best Bakery from Northern Virginia Magazine and Falls Church News to name a few. Deservingly so. It's just so good. Right when you think it can't get better, if you purchase a Bakeshop shirt, wear it next time you go and you get a free cookie. Does it get better than a free cookie?
