Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery

Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery is one of those places you can describe with the phrase, “if you know, you know.” If you’ve never had the pleasure of visiting Bayou Bakery, you’re truly missing out. For those who can’t make it to the Big Easy, this spot right in Northern Virginia will transport you straight to New Orleans.

Their website proclaims that Bayou Bakery has “southern hospitality - and plenty of sugar - in its soul,” and I couldn’t agree more. As a huge fan of New Orleans, I’m equally a big fan of Bayou Bakery.

Chef David Guts, born and raised in New Orleans, has crafted a wonderful menu that marries sweet and savory southern flavors in a delightful atmosphere. I highly recommend checking out their website to learn more about Chef Guts’ impressive background.

This casual, order-at-the-counter spot boasts a vast menu brimming with flavors that reflect the rich culinary culture of New Orleans. From muff-a-lottas and gumbo to pimento cheese and buttermilk biscuits, the menu is a showcase of everything that makes southern cooking so exceptional. They serve brunch all day, so you can always get your fix of grits, biscuits and gravy, and beignets.

Bayou Bakery also features a full coffee bar and an array of pastries. With a classically trained pastry chef at the helm, they take their baked goods seriously. Pies, coffee cake, croissants, scones, cookies, and so much more are baked fresh daily. Don’t miss out on their sweet tea and freshly made lemonade either.

I really can’t say enough good things about Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery. It’s a fantastic bakery, a great coffee bar, and a delicious eatery, all wrapped up in a charming New Orleans atmosphere.
