Coldspoon Coffee is a unique mix of coffee and frozen yogurt shop. This small spot in Sterling, VA is located in a strip mall near the Food Lion. It has the full coffee menu as you'd expect. As well as 8 different self-serve frozen yogurt flavors. With the 10 or so additional toppings also self-serve. The typical croissant breakfast sandwiches, toast options, and half a dozen lunch sandwiches. All the things you'd expect in a small coffee shop around the area. There is one surprising difference. The custom yogurt bowls. Choose your yogurt flavor, toppings and syrups. similar to the frozen yogurt options everyone is familiar with. I guess this is the healthier option. The one negative I found is the lack of comfortably. A few tables on the sidewalk, stools inside, three small tables and a few booths. The chairs are metal and booths wood. No padding or cushions on any of the seats. Doesn't seem like this place is designed for people to work or sit for awhile. Not like a coffee shop near the city. Seems like they do a decent amount of to-go orders. I think it's a wonderful spot for locals that live near by. An upgraded option to the local Starbucks with much better food options. Parents get a coffee, kids get a frozen yogurt. There isn't much reason to go out of your way to find it but if you're around Sterling I don't think you'll be disappointed if you choose this over the Dunkin' just a stones throw away.
