French Toast DMV

French Toast DMV is a unique spot that keeps things simple yet irresistibly good. Co-owners Beckham Baffer and Justin Wallace have honed in on a singular, delightful concept: French toast done to perfection. Justin’s magic happens on the griddle, using his own French toast recipe, while Beckham manages the day-to-day operations with precision. Their goal? To serve incredible French toast, and they’ve nailed it.

What’s unique about French Toast DMV is that it isn’t a restaurant or food truck; it’s a small trailer, permanently stationed on Mt. Vernon Street, next to Junction Bakery & Bistro and across from Matt & Tony’s All-Day Kitchen & Bar. The trailer is tiny, but the flavor coming out of this small space is nothing short of remarkable. You’ll find a few tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the vibrant energy of Del Ray.

The menu focuses solely on French toast, but the options are far from boring. Whether you prefer the classic version or something more decadent, French Toast DMV has you covered. You can keep it simple with fresh strawberries or blueberries or indulge in the stuffed cheesecake and fruit option. For the adventurous, the “Fruity Pebble” French toast, crusted with the iconic cereal, is a fun and nostalgic twist. The cinnamon roll French toast, stuffed with cream cheese and dusted with cinnamon, is another crowd-pleaser. If you crave a balance of sweet and savory, the maple bacon French toast offers the perfect bite.

The attention to detail extends beyond the toast. You can also order maple-crusted bacon and choose between 100% pure Vermont maple syrup or bourbon-infused syrup to elevate your meal. Both options are worth trying and add an extra layer of flavor.

In a neighborhood full of brunch spots, French Toast DMV stands out by focusing on one thing and doing it exceptionally well. If you’re a French toast lover or just curious, this little trailer is worth a visit—and chances are, you’ll be coming back for more.
