Clarendon has plenty of great restaurants to choose from. You can find almost anything you’re looking for within a few blocks. One that’s continuously near the top of every list is Green Pig Bistro. For over a decade this Arlington neighborhood has been lucky to have the doors to Green Pig Bistro opened. They call their food French with an American twist, I call it delicious. The vibe you immediately notice is the comfortable local pub with comfort food. Plenty of seating outside and on beautiful days those tables go quickly. But not to worry, inside it is much bigger than expected: a small bar as you walk in the door, booths by the windows, and a hallway leading you to the back room with plenty of seating. Something you don’t find often anymore is a restaurant with three very specific menus. Here, like a lot of places, they have a lunch, dinner and brunch menu. In most places, the majority of their menus are similar with only a couple of items exclusive for the time of day. The Green Pig Bistro has three very distinct menus and I encourage you to try them all. Lunch is mostly sandwiches like BLTs, burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads. Dinner has more hearty steaks, fish, and pastas. Brunch features eggs, waffles, burgers and sandwiches. I’m a big fan of the three menus. I understand why most places can not do this. But if you can, and do it well, like the Green Pig Bistro, it’s like 3 restaurants in one. You always have a reason to go back and try another menu. After eating at Green Pig Bistro, it’s no surprise they’ve been here for over a decade. A place to grab a relaxed lunch, dinner, or brunch and be more than satisfied with all of them.
