Falls Church is quickly becoming the place to eat in Northern Virginia. With great new restaurants seeming to pop up every month. The stretch of Leesburg Pike between I-66 and Seven Corners have seen a few wonderful places to eat, one of those being Harvey's. A mix of "Small town feel with a modern flair" is the description on the website and I'd say they hit the nail on the head. A cozy, neighborhood diner with food that's a step above. All the great favorites like burgers, fries, pancakes, biscuits and salads. But the burgers use local meats, the pancakes are scratch made buttermilk, the biscuits are soft yet stand up to being smothered and covered in sausage gravy. I went into my Harvey's experience expecting the ordinary. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was impressed with all aspects of the restaurant. Food was a step above. The venue looked friendly and inviting. I can't say enough about the staff. So many friendly smiling facing. A fair amount of tables inside but they fill up quickly. Seats at the bar and about a dozen tables outside. I was surprised how well Harvey's hit on all aspects but I shouldn't have been. After going I went online to find owner and head chef Thomas Harvey previously worked for Tuskies Group. They oversee incredible restaurants like Tuscarora Mill, Magnolia on the Mill and Fireworks pizza, all of Leesburg. Fantastic restaurants. I will have reviews of those up as soon as I go back. Like Harvey's, those are a can't miss as well. You have a lot of great choices in Falls Church. If you're looking for something comfortable, cozy, easy good, with great food and smiles. Check out Harvey's. You can't go wrong for breakfast, lunch, dinner or brunch.
