Formerly a beloved sandwich shop in Culpeper, Jackleg Pizza Company has found its true calling in the art of pizza making. Relocating to the Vint Hill area, just outside Warrenton, owners Gina Catalano and Nathan Rivas have created a new hotspot for some of the best pizza you’ll find in Northern Virginia. They opened their doors in February, and the community has quickly shown their appreciation for the outstanding pies this duo is crafting.
Jackleg offers three distinct styles of pizza: traditional New York, Detroit, and Chicago cracker-thin pub. Each style has its own unique flair, showcasing the diverse tastes and textures that make pizza a universally loved dish. The quality of the ingredients used is top-notch, rivaling any other pizzeria in the region.
The dedication and passion that go into every pie are evident, making each pizza a true labor of love. This commitment to quality is a big reason why Jackleg has found it challenging to keep up with the demand—a good problem to have for any new establishment.
My discovery of Jackleg Pizza Company was serendipitous. After hearing from locals that it was a must-try, I decided to see what all the excitement was about. The experience more than lived up to the hype, and it’s no surprise they’ve quickly gained a loyal following.
While it’s currently take-out only, with a couple of picnic tables outside, the location is convenient, nestled between Mister French Espresso Bar and Old Bust Head Brewing Company. Whether you’re craving a classic New York slice, a hearty Detroit pie, or a crisp Chicago cracker-thin, Jackleg Pizza Company has something for every pizza lover. The exceptional ingredients, friendly staff, and genuine passion for great pizza make this spot worth the drive. In my opinion, it’s one of the best pizzas in all of Northern Virginia—a must-try for any true pizza enthusiast.
