Lost Dog Cafe

Almost 40 years ago Lost Dog Cafe opened it's doors to Northern Virginia for the first time and decades later they have 5 locations in the area. North Arlington, South Arlington, Alexandira, McLean and Dunn Loring. All five are pretty consistent with their food menu, their beers on tap does change from location to location. A wondreful thing the team at Lost Dog does is but their beers on their website. What beer is available at which location and the information is updated regularly. That is a wonderful thing for people looking for rare or specialty beers. They have a lot of local beers and the staff seems very knowledgeable on what you might be looking for. A lot of options on tap and even a bigger bottle selection. I would say this is a place for a beer lover. I would say it's also for someone looking for a beer they might like. That's how I see the Lost Dog Cafe. As a beer lovers paradise with food. It may look like a restaurant but it's more like a nice bar with a big menu. Most people going to Lost Dog are going for the drinks. I'm not saying the food is bad, it's not. It's just not the best in the area. It's a large menu with a lot, I mean a lot, of options. With 50 sandwiches on the menu and even more pizzas, this is carb heaven. Great options for when drinking. You can find something you like. With that many options and the ability to create your own, the possibilities are endless. The pizza is heavier than most. Typically thick and doughy. If that's not your style I'd stick to the sandwiches or a salad. They have a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Plenty of merch to buy too. I'm a big fan of supporting local businesses and this was born in 1985, raised here and expanded here. Doesn't get much more Northern Virginia than Lost Dog Cafe. If you're in the mood for a beer I think you'll find one you like at any of their spots.
