Tucked back in the small business plaza of Vint Hill, Mister French is a charming coffee shop owned by husband and wife duo, Michael and Tiffany. After getting married in Australia, they relocated to Northern Virginia, back to Tiffany’s roots, and opened the doors to this cozy space.
Mister French’s journey began in a horse trailer, serving high-quality espresso shots. From those humble beginnings, they’ve grown into their current location, sharing the plaza with popular spots like Alias, Vint Hill Craft Winery, and Old Bust Head Brewery Company. Conveniently situated next to one of Northern Virginia’s best pizza joints, Jackleg Pizza Company, Mister French has become a hidden gem for coffee lovers in the area.
Despite its small size, the shop offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Inside, you’ll find a few tables and chairs, perfect for relaxing with your coffee. Outside, there are picnic tables with umbrellas, allowing you to enjoy your drink, a tasty toastie, and the fresh air.
Open from 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays, Mister French takes pride in its carefully curated menu. Their offerings include overnight oats, ham and cheese croissants, and various toasties like caprese and turkey with pesto—ideal snacks to complement your coffee or tea. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to using fair trade beans from sustainable farms, ensuring every cup is of the highest quality.
Mister French embodies the essence of a small-town coffee shop with a relaxing ambiance and incredibly friendly owners. Though it might be a bit out of the way for most Northern Virginia residents, it’s worth the trip. If you’re in Vint Hill or nearby, make sure to stop by for a great cup of coffee, a delicious snack, and a warm “G’day Mate!”
