With the opening of their new location in downtown Fairfax, the Old Dominion Pizza Company now has two places to craze your pizza needs. The original location in Arlington just east of Glebe Rd. on Cherry Hill Rd. The most recent ODPC is two blocks north or Main St. on University Dr. in downtown Fairfax. Both offering similar menus with plenty of pizza options. Not just toppings but style as well. Offering pizza in New York style and Grandma Style. New York is the typical thinner slice with grandma style being thicker. Not deep dish but something in between. A fluffier crust with some crunch. They do have a third crust option. Gluten-free cauliflower crust can be used for any pizza, although I did not see them offering it available by the slice. At the counter they have half a dozen or so different pizzas you can get a slice or two. Like a traditional pizza place they also offer a few subs, cheesecakes, wings and salads. But this is without a doubt a pizza place. Even had the feel of one. As soon as I walked in it reminded me of the local neighborhood pizza places from many years ago. The smell, the seats, the kitchen open to see and they even have a Pac-Man arcade game. Something about the sound of that machine reminds me of pizza. It was a comfortable, clean, inviting place. I wouldn't consider it the best pizza in Northern Virginia but it's a good one. I'm typically prefer a NY slice but I was surprised to like the grandma slice much more. The new Fairfax location is a nice addition to the downtown Fairfax area. It's a great place to grab a slice or order for the whole family. Plenty of seating with tables outside on the sidewalk. Public parking garage behind it makes it easy to get to. A couple TVs, good food, a few beers on tap, I'm sure everyone in your family will find something to like about Old Dominion Pizza Company.
