Second Nature Coffee Co has seamlessly taken over a beloved spot in the heart of Leesburg, right on the corner of Royal St. and King St., where King Street Coffee was a cherished staple for decades. When King Street Coffee closed its doors a few months ago, many locals mourned the loss of their go-to coffee haven. But thanks to new owners Belal El-Atari, Dan Tufts, and Nikki Sicilian, that hometown coffee shop feel is alive and well.
These Leesburg residents and loyal patrons of the former coffee shop saw an opportunity to continue the tradition and keep the corner buzzing with the same inviting, small-town vibe that regulars had grown accustomed to. Stepping inside, you’ll find that not much has changed in terms of atmosphere and decor. It’s still that cozy spot where you can slow down, sip a cup of coffee, and let the day melt away.
Second Nature Coffee Co offers a range of coffee drinks alongside pastries and small snacks, making it a perfect stop whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or looking to relax for a while. Many of the familiar faces from King Street Coffee remain on staff, keeping that sense of community intact. What’s more, the new owners are committed to supporting local businesses, including White Hearth Pottery, who supplies the shop’s mugs.
With plenty of outdoor seating featuring comfy chairs, you can easily lose track of time as you soak in the relaxed pace of downtown Leesburg. Even though Second Nature Coffee Co is only a few months old, it already feels like it’s been here for years—because in many ways, it has. It’s more than just a coffee shop; it’s the continuation of a tradition that’s rooted in the heart of the town.
