Simona Cafe

Tucked underneath an awning off Wilson Blvd in Arlington is this little cafe. It may not be big but it certainly makes up for it in many other ways. From the colors, to the flowers on the tables, to even the font on the wall, the details of Simona Cafe are best described as soothing. It's a relaxing environment with the sounds of the espressos machine are all you really hear. Most people here come for the quiet and a place to work on their laptops. That's both inside and out. Plenty of seats outside under the awning that allows for some nice shade on sunny days. There is actually more seating outside than in because it's an extremely small space. The menu has a good number of breakfast and lunch options. On the counter are the daily baked goods. I decided to try the lemon lavender scone and I am so glad I did. I can't say just how incredible it was. I have tried scones all over Northern Virginia and can say with confidence this is one of the best I've ever had. Pretty sure I will order this every time I come back. Overall it's a lovely little cafe. With good weather it's the perfect spot in Arlington to grab a drink or something lite to eat. With cold or bad weather it might be hard to find a place to sit inside. It's also dog friendly. Arlington seems to have more coffee shops and cafes than they have street lights. I would still say walking an extra block or two to come here over another place would be worth it. If you're in the NOMA area of D.C. please check out their other location.
