One of the newest sushi restaurants in Fairfax is making a big splash and quickly becoming the go-to place for great sushi and Japanese cuisine. Sushi Cho is on Lee Hwy/Fairfax Blvd/Route 50/Route 29 (so many roads in Northern Virginia have multiple names), in a shopping plaza across from Fairfax High School. The parking lot isn’t much for the amount of retail in the plaza. Parking seems to fill up quickly. So you may need to walk a bit, but it’s more than worth it. At first glance you’ll notice the beautiful decor of the interior. Spectacular traditional Japanese interior design throughout the restaurant. That’s just the beginning of what Sushi Cho does well. First glance at the menu can be overwhelming. They have Teriyaki, bulgogi, tempura, and noodles for those who aren’t fans of sushi. You don’t have to be a sushi lover to enjoy the food they serve, but it certainly helps because the sushi menu is incredible. A hundred sushi rolls, yes 100. Actually over 100. They have 100 specialty rolls to choose from. The rolls are big, fresh, and extremely flavorful. No matter what type of fish is your favorite, you’ll find multiple options. I can’t wait to go back and try more. It will be hard to not order the rolls I’ve already tried because I liked them so much. I will be sure to order the seared salmon belly appetizer again. I was blown away by it. One of the most delicious pieces of fish I have ever had. That quickly became a staple of my order anytime I’m lucky enough to be back. Finally, I didn’t want to leave out the service. Above and beyond. Servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. When I say Sushi Cho did everything right, I mean it. From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend it enough. Hope you enjoy Sushi Cho as much as I did.
