The Black Sheep

The Black Sheep in Manassas, VA, stands out as one of the most incredible and picturesque restaurants in all of Northern Virginia. This historic barn, originally built in 1929, has been masterfully renovated while preserving much of its original structure. The rustic charm is enhanced by unique touches, like the original hooks in the ceiling and repurposed wood planks, which are used in their famous bacon tower.

Brought to life by the talented team from Villagio Hospitality Group, The Black Sheep shares the same level of excellence as its sister restaurant, Trattoria Villagio—one of my personal favorites in the area. But The Black Sheep is much more than just a restaurant; it’s a true destination. Located alongside several other Villagio Hospitality Group ventures, this spot is what I’d call an “adult playground.” With a live music venue, outdoor brewery, ice cream truck, and more, there’s always something to see and do. Yet, The Black Sheep remains the main attraction.

The menu is as diverse as it is exciting, drawing inspiration from various cuisines. Dishes like Jambalaya pasta, miso saké sea bass, and Mongolian beef bowl highlight their global influences, while traditional offerings such as pork chops, crab cakes, and ribeyes cater to more classic tastes. An extensive raw bar and charcuterie selection add to the variety, and their weekend brunch is also worth checking out.

As with other Villagio Hospitality Group establishments, the service here is top-notch. The vibe and ambiance are truly among the best you’ll find in Northern Virginia, making it a must-visit dining destination. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in a stunning setting, The Black Sheep should be on your list.
