For years people drove into Occoquan and they'd see the same familiar sign on their left. It was comforting knowing it was there. A wonderful places called Mom's Apple Pie Bakery. It was a tradtion for many people to enjoy the little water front town and pick up something to go on the way out back to the real world. If you haven't been in awhile it might be jarring to not see it there anymore. No need to worry, The Golden Plum is there for all your pie needs. Even better news, it's the same delicious pie we all know and love. The former owner has since handed the wheel to her daughter who is now making it her own. The space may be smaller and the menu shorter but the taste is just as good as ever. Focusing more on pies and the bakery the Golden Plum is still a must stop when heading back to route 123. Still get fantasic service with a smile and more options than you know what to do with. I did ask how many varieties of pie they offered by the slice and that particular day they had 36. It may not be as big but there's no need to worry. The Golden Plum makes sure you give in to your pie temptation. Mom's Apple Pie Bakery still has locations in Leesburg and Round Hill. All three serving delicious pies.
