The Pit Stop

Many may be familiar with The Pit Stop at Gilbert’s Corner on Route 50 in Aldie. Out there every weekend, they serve up delicious barbecue that you can smell from a mile away, thanks to the wood burning in their cookers. This tremendous flavor is also available in Sterling at their brick-and-mortar location, open Wednesday through Sunday.

The Pit Stop offers true, authentic barbecue. For those who truly appreciate and respect barbecue, this is a must-try. The seating options include both indoor and a nice outdoor area to enjoy your meal and the weather.

The meats, prepared by pit master Ron Thomas, are the highlight. Ron takes his craft seriously, even making the cookers himself. The generous portions of meat are cooked with real wood, giving them a distinct smoky flavor that stands out among other barbecue places in the area. The sides are also generously sized, complementing the main dishes perfectly.

The dedication to creating excellent barbecue is obvious. The owners take immense pride in their work, and their friendliness adds to the charm of The Pit Stop. They have every reason to be proud of what they serve.

If you can make it out to Aldie on a weekend, you should absolutely check them out, keeping in mind that the lines can get long. Alternatively, you can head to their Sterling location. Be sure to bring your appetite, as the portions are extremely generous.

The Pit Stop is not just a meal; it’s a barbecue experience that will leave you craving for more.
