Trummer's

The idyllic city of Clifton has an exceptional reputation for great restaurants, and any list of the best would be incomplete without Trummer’s. Owners Victoria and Stefan Trummer have brought one of the finest dining experiences in all of Northern Virginia to this charming town. They’re also behind Trummer’s Coffee & Wine Bar in Gainesville, further showcasing their knack for creating superb culinary destinations.

This two-story venue offers one of the most picturesque dining room settings you’ll come across. The atmosphere is only rivaled by their menu, with chefs crafting traditional classics infused with modern twists. Offering American cuisine, they serve lunch, dinner, and brunch, with an impressive cocktail program and a wine list that would make even D.C.’s finest restaurants envious. With over 8,000 bottles in their cellar, the options are expansive.

Trummer’s strikes a perfect balance between small-town charm and high-end city service. The menu revolves around the local community, utilizing seasonal produce from nearby small farms. This commitment to fresh, local ingredients enhances the dining experience even further.

While the ambiance, food, and drinks are enough to warrant a visit, the service truly elevates Trummer’s to another level. I generally avoid mentioning specific staff members, as service is always a team effort, but I must give special recognition to Amanda. Her outstanding service left such an impression that I’ll be requesting her every time I return.

Executive chef Zach Ridenhour has crafted a diverse menu that highlights the best and freshest ingredients. To top off your meal, make sure not to miss the work of pastry chef Amanda Siever. Her pastries are not to be overlooked.

If you’re seeking an unforgettable meal with exceptional service, Trummer’s is an ideal choice. Every aspect of the experience—from the farm-to-table ingredients to the curated drinks and top-notch staff—makes the trip to Clifton more than worth it.
