Just off Route 29 near I-66, where Arlington meets Falls Church, sits the charming Yayla Bistro, a Mediterranean gem celebrating its 10th anniversary. The restaurant offers a delightful blend of Mediterranean flavors, heavily inspired by Turkish cuisine and spices.
What stood out most during my visit was the exceptional service. My server was not only professional and incredibly kind but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu. She spoke with such pride about the dishes, particularly when recommending the Manti, a traditional Turkish dumpling. Her enthusiasm made it irresistible, and it lived up to every expectation—I will be ordering it every time I return.
Yayla Bistro’s menu, as expected from a Mediterranean restaurant, features a variety of spreads—six to be exact, all made in-house. While hummus is the most popular, I strongly recommend trying the Htipiti. With the quality of each spread, it’s tough to pick just one, so the sampler platter is a great option to experience them all.
The restaurant offers three distinct dining areas. The main dining room feels sophisticated yet relaxed, offering an upscale experience without being stuffy. For a more casual vibe, the bar area is perfect, with booth seating and a view of the TV. If you prefer dining outdoors, there are a few shaded tables along Westmoreland Street, adding to the bistro’s versatility in atmosphere.
Going in, I knew little about Yayla Bistro beyond its Mediterranean roots, but I left with a smile, impressed by every detail—from the outstanding service to the rich variety of flavors and the beautiful ambiance. It’s clear why Yayla Bistro has quietly become one of Northern Virginia’s hidden treasures. Treat yourself and discover what makes this spot truly special.
